LFPME organises meetings between MPs and Palestinian visitors and experts so MPs are kept up to date with latest developments.

When Parliament is in session every month Government Ministers have to attend a question time in Parliament to answer MPs’ questions about their department. MPs submit their question to a ballot, successful MPs get to ask their question to a Minister.

As part of the Queen’s Speech debate, Parliament discussed international affairs. Palestine was mentioned a number of times, including Nia Griffith MP on arms exports to Israel, Jeremy Corbyn MP and Cat Smith MP on Recognition of a Palestine state and notably by Sir Gerald Kaufman MP. Sir Gerald asked Shadow Foreign Secretary Hilary Benn MP to confirm the Labour Party commitment to last year’s vote on Recognition, which he confirmed.
